Abstract

Islamic civilization [and its characteristics] is one of the issues that has become the main concern in socio-political studies in the Muslim world due to the processes of globalization and the sense of excellence of certain cultures and nations above others. Islamic civilization is formed on the basis of Islamic identity and this identity is then introduced and presented in the form of Islamic civilization to the world and humanity at large. In today's world, according to defined parameters, the societies that are more advanced in science and especially in technological progress are considered more civilized. The position of science and technology in Islam, along with the monotheistic worldview centered on both worldly and otherworldly felicity of human beings, has given Islamic civilization a unique outlook in relation to its goals, foundations, scientific advancements etc. The following essay is based on the pronouncements of the Supreme Leader regarding the relationship between Islamic civilization and science, with emphasis on technology, in the Qur’an.
